These aren't even close to being in any sort of order, but they're from the 13th, 14th and 15th. Any that look museumish are from the Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum on Sunday, any that look bar-ish are from Baker St. on Saturday night, any that look restaurantish are from either Friday night or the benefit on Saturday evening. I still have to get my OKC memorial ones developed.

Now I'm off to see a lecture on cultural linguistics.

*checks her profile and wonders who [livejournal.com profile] zz_ljabuse is*

Any takers on an explanation?

Uploading photos right now. Here's one from the memorial site, and a couple random ones from my phone. We found a stuffed parrot on the chain link fence wall where people place memorial sorts of things and left our mark with an Opening Team pin.

Also, hello random archaeological reference in music. I'm listening to Ani DiFranco's "Fuel" and it's about the slave cemetary that was found in New York. I can't tell you how many videos and articles I watched/read on that place in the past three years.

Henna!

On Wednesday night I went over to [livejournal.com profile] xtoyzruskidx's house and had my foot decorated with henna. These are some pictures from this morning, before I've had a shower, so there is still red from the pencil she used to mark an outline on my leg/foot. I'll take more pictures later, once the red is gone.

I got my new debit/ATM card in the mail today. YAY! I can use the bank again!

Now...last night Andrea and I celebrated her birthday by going to my restaurant. You finally get to see a couple pics of the place I work. Then I have to get ready to go to work and close tonight. Come visit me for karaeoke!

The entire house is all clean and unpacked at once. This is shocking. Except for the random shelves on the bookcases, everything is all put away and organised, too! Yay!

I got a voicemail from Nick (the guy in charge of the restaurant) saying he had more info about server training. I called him back Saturday afternoon and he told me they're postponing the opening a week. Their licensing hasn't come through yet, and they don't want to risk opening and not having it--entirely understandable. This is both good and bad. On the plus side, this means I get to go up north with Dan's mom and sisters (both of them, or one or neither?--I didn't quite catch details of who is going) the weekend we were supposed to be training and doing all the opening publicity stuff. This also means we don't start training, and so I will definitely be training on my birthday. On the plus side, I should be out early enough to be able to make the midnight release of HP6 at Barnes & Noble (with two in tow--it sounds like both [livejournal.com profile] madbillyblack and [livejournal.com profile] paxtonblue are interested in going with me) that night. I'm not 100% positive, so I'm really debating on if I want to cancel my Amazon preorder and set one up through B&N instead or not. That way, even if I end up not being able to make the midnight release I could still pick it up early the next morning. Another big down side is that [livejournal.com profile] clearmind will be in Michigan the week we open, and this means I won't know my schedule and sorting out when I'll be able to see him until right before he's in Michigan :-P

Not to mention I'll have been out of work for a month :-\

The fact that I'm starting to get really listless and lethargic is not a good one. I really do need to get the house picked up before I go home on Thursday, and clean Anna's old tank and pick up fresh substrate to clean out her new one for her once I get back. Mom has said I can come home earlier if I'm really getting that bad and just set up a new appointment to pick up my mouth guard from the dentist, but I'd rather just get it Thursday and be done with it all. She's using Rheanna as bait ;-) For the relative newcomers to my f'list, Rheanna is my absolutely darling, almost seven-year-old cousin. I haven't seen her in months. She adores me, and I adore her. The picture linked to "absolutely darling" is actually one that I first saw and thought a younger picture of me had gotten mixed in with Christmas photos.

Oh well. Soon enough I'll be working full-time and making money again, and soon enough HBP will be out and I'll be whining for Book 7 and the GoF movie ;-)

I'm giong to go now and attempt to not be so listless...but I don't really see that happening.

I posted way too much today :-P

Because a certain somebody requested a pic of me in the pigtails I decided to wear today, and this was better than the one he was first sent, and I really don't do this often, I decided to post it here:

From the phonecam... )

O that awful deepdown torrent O and the sea the sea crimson sometimes like fire and the glorious sunsets and the figtrees in the Alameda gardens yes and all the queer little streets and pink and blue and yellow houses and the rosegardens and the jessamine and geraniums and cactuses and Gibraltar as a girl where I was a Flower of the mountain yes when I put the rose in my hair like the Andalusian girls used or shall I wear a red yes and how he kissed me under the Moorish wall and I thought well as well him as another and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes and then he asked me would I yes to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes.

(copy/pasted from [livejournal.com profile] literaryquotes because it's Bloomsday and because Dan stole his copy of the book back, so I couldn't copy it from there...)

Edit: I definitely don't look like I'll be 23 next month in that picture...lol
