Madeline L'Engle dead at 88.

I was surprised to see The Small Rain was her first novel. It begins my favorite set of her books.

I'm going to be sad for the rest of the weekend. But I'm happy that it sounds like she had a terrific, long life. I love that A Wrinkle in Time, such a classic, was initially rejected by 26 publishers!

I got my mother hooked on L'Engle when I had her listen to the audio book of Wrinkle.

I was so sad when I read that earlier today! One because she's one of my favorite authors, and also because she was said to be writing another book about Meg Murray (or O'Keefe rather) and I was still holding out hope she'd finish it someday. :-( I was addicted to her books as a kid; I've read many of them several times.
