Well, back from OKC. I didn't end up even getting any postcards until Sunday, when we went to the OKC federal building memorial, so you'll get Oklahoma postcards postmarked from Michigan...rofl I'll fill them out tonight and send them out tomorrow.

I requested all week off from Bennigan's, so I'll get to catch up on the whole sleeping in thing this week, and given that I left OKC in overtime, I'm sure I'm not working at CiP until at least Thursday (when the new week starts). Also, Dan and I went to Carraba's last night after I got home, and we forgot to put the leftovers in the fridge. I'm very sad about that because my tummy's growling and there's not really anything in the house to eat :-P

Now I'm off to get a shower and catch up on two weeks worth of errands. I'll post pictures later. I haven't even uploaded them from the camera, plus I have a disposable that needs to be developed (because I found my digital cord the MORNING we left OKC, so I have all of two days worth of pics on it :-P).

*checks her profile and wonders who [livejournal.com profile] zz_ljabuse is*

Any takers on an explanation?

Uploading photos right now. Here's one from the memorial site, and a couple random ones from my phone. We found a stuffed parrot on the chain link fence wall where people place memorial sorts of things and left our mark with an Opening Team pin.

Also, hello random archaeological reference in music. I'm listening to Ani DiFranco's "Fuel" and it's about the slave cemetary that was found in New York. I can't tell you how many videos and articles I watched/read on that place in the past three years.

A couple other pics... )

From the boyfriend...

Apparently two guys from Weezer are portraying members of The Velvet Underground for a new movie.

http://shadow-dream.livejournal.com/142956.html

Seems like the Weezer boys are feeling pretty good about their try at "Heroin". "[Moe] Tucker did have an amazing feel," Bell said, "but she was no Pat, and Pat pulled out an ‘Only In Dreams' type crescendo that I think makes that aspect of the song better."

*falls over laughing* How egotistical can one get? Let's just say "Our version's even better than the original!" about a cult-status art-rock band. Idiots. I have to hear the new version of the song now so I can laugh even harder, but I can't find it. It's probably not released yet.

I'm with him. I like what Lou Reed had to say about the whole thing:

Patrick Wilson weighed in on the film's potential on his blog, stating, "the script is sweet and confidence is high that this movie wont [sic] suck."

Apparently the real Lou Reed thinks otherwise. "I read that script," Reed candidly told the New York Daily News. "It's one of the most disgusting, foul things I've seen - by any illiterate retard - in a long time. There's no limit to how low some people will go to write something to make money."

I went to campus today to drop a form off at the Admin building and I happened to catch the Western Herald for today...Ann Coulter will be speaking at WMU next month courtesy of the Western Republicans. I read the article and it seems they're looking to increase security at the event...presumably to avoid an occurance like that at the Pat Buchanan speech last year...lol At this rate I have a feeling they're not going to let any KVCC kids in ;-) Apparently, the price tag for her speech alone is $20,000. Damn. There's also going to be a book signing, but that's reserved for campus republicans and invited guests.

I just thought a few of you would find that interesting. Now back to your regularly scheduled lives.
