There's something a little bit surreal about attending a get-together filled with people who work at the coffeeshop you've frequented for the past five years--especially when most of the people there (the girl who hosted being one of them) have been working there even longer than you've been going there. They're a really great group of people, and I had a really nice time. The divide between them and the people Dan works with at his restaurant is really interesting. The coffeeshop is employed with a lot of people in their late twenties/thirties, but the restaurant is filled with the hovering-around-21 crowd. This is probably why I feel more comfortable around the people we were around tonight--they're a bit more tame, and I have more in common with them than with Dan's coworkers.
Ugh...I can't really sleep right now. I fell into bed right when we got home, but now I'm up and I have a nasty bit of heartburn from the wine and the taco salad I made, and the Saffron that we had for lunch.
Okay...now to down a bit more water and try to sleep again. I really don't feel like working tomorrow :-P
