Jan. 20th, 2007 08:07 pmNobody's really updated today! For shame! How dare you all have lives that exist outside of updating for my amusement?!
Okay, so I guess I'll put my (terribly painful) foot where my mouth is and do an update. I went to take Dan to work this morning and tripped. I didn't even fall down stairs--my left foot was on the ground and my right one was in midair when I toppled over and was rendered pretty immobile all day. It was so bad, and I realize that I really can't accomplish anything at work unable to do anything but hop, that I actually went to Urgent Care about it. They took x-rays, but said it didn't look like there was a break and that it's probably just a nasty sprain. They said they'd have a radiologist take a look at it just to be certain, though, and give me a call if they find anything. They gave me a hard-soled shoe so that I can't bend my foot, told me to wrap it with Ace bandages, use crutches or a cane, and to ice it every few hours and keep it as elevated as possible, and to stay off of it as much as possible for the next week.
This sucks.
I do my management orientation on Tuesday, on which day I'm also supposed to Key from 10-8. I'm going to ask if I can just stand in the window and expo all day--I don't see it being a very good idea to have me hobbling around the dining room and talking to tables on crutches with a big blue shoe for ten hours. Luckily I should be starting my training the 1stish, so I should be okay enough by then to hobble around without too much pain.
You know...I didn't really want to work my final shift at Francois' tonight, but I was just fine with the idea of working it and this isn't the way I wanted to get out of it :-P
