I love the internet.
So, in my attempt to become a savvy traveler, I've been looking up various tipping sites over the past month. It had never even crossed my mind to tip housekeeping until someone brought it up when I was in OKC. I completely forgot to leave anything at all the morning we left, so I felt awful and made sure that I was going to amend it this time around. It's really amazing the way tipping etiquette works in ways that I never realized.
Maybe this is why I've been making such crap since I got back from Oklahoma...it's the karma of the situation...lol I know I've been doing well--my tables always tell me what a great time they had, or how great I was, or something similar, and still they're almost all leaving 10% tips. It gets disheartening after a while.
So yes... http://www.tipping.org is a very cool site, though I don't totally agree with all their amounts listed (maybe I'm just a generous person, but there are plenty of people in my past who would say otherwise, so I don't think that's the case...I just know that I'm one who helps them pay their rent, and I'm not going to be mean when they're doing me a service). And, more specifically, tipping in the US.
