I loved the program NPR had about MySpace--Reporter: "OMG people lying about their ages to lure!!! OMG public journaling!!!". Older woman on MySpace: "Ummm...notsomuch. Reconnecting with old friends from hs and such." Reporter: *shudders at thought of people she went to hs with* It was highly amusing. Frankly, there are sexual predators lurking everywhere...including next door, probably. I'd be more concerned about my child catching onto the style of "webdesign" and "photography" and photoshopping that happens on there. I spent a large partion of my later teenage life on chatrooms and mailing lists and Yahell (clubs)Groups. I've met a fair number of people I talked to on the internet and haven't had one really negative experience with it.

The Daily Show did an interesting piece on MySpace too - taking a 'socially anti-social' viewpoint. The funny part is that the reporter said that it helped streamline his life bys ending out 9,000 Valentine's Day cards at once.

Pretty funny stuff.
