The above is an article on the nearing-extinct bonobos...apes infamous for their use of sex as a social tool. I love how the article quotes somebody saying that bonobos are "an icon for peace and love" (they use sex rather than violence to resolve issues). I think "promiscuous" is a better word for it. Bonobo mothers initiate their own sons into the ways and even use it in a way similar to us shaking hands or hugging upon saying hello.
