littlelotteWe just got back from the Art Hop. I'd heard about it a million times in the past two years or so, but never got around to checking it out (mainly because I had no clue what it consisted of). It happens the first Friday evening of every month around the ENTIRE downtown area. Someone Dan works with had work showing in the Park Trades Center, a bunch of downtown businesses had wine and fruit and cheese and crackers and cookies and juice and photography and paintings, the Kalamazoo Mall had booths down the entire street, Bronson Park had a bunch of booths (which we didn't realize until too late), and it was really great. It's like a typical summer art fair, except this happens every single month here.
Every week there are more things I learn that make me love this city. I told Dan it's really too bad that we're not ready for our own restaurant. I think Kalamazoo is hitting the edge of ready for the type of place we'd like to open. Who knows...maybe once we're ready ourselves Kalamazoo will be the perfect place for it and we'll come back. *shrugs* You never know :-)
