Nothing against anybody on my flist, but...can somebody tell me wtf is so interesting about Lost? Because really...I don't care for anything I've seen, and Dan is obsessed...to the point where our TV is currently on and playing it. Our TV is never on. Ew. Also, my boss loves it. He even moved inventory from 5am to 6am tomorrow because he had to watch Lost...that one's just fine with me.

Hello!

Hey! It was really good to see you too the other day. In a room full of unfamiliar people it's always nice to run into someone familiar!
The one thing about college that I really miss is knowing that I will see my friends at a certain time once or twice a week. Now that college is done and over with I never know when I'm going to run into them!

I'm actually living in K-zoo now. We should get together and hang out sometime. I'm working at the Kalamazoo Gazette now as the "Editorial Coordinator" - basically an Editorial Assistant. I've been there since January of 2006 but have only been a full-time employee since the beginning of February of this year. Long story... but basically my minor in Anthropology just won't come into play at all. Although my methodology classes were a bit of help when it comes to being calm with extremely irritating people on the phone. :)

Oh - I thought you guys should have won. I loved your dessert! Don't worry too much about not winning though, I know that at least one of the judges is a "food snob" talking about textures and blah blah blah. Just give me taste!

*giggles* I think I know the one you mean (and, according to one of the guys in charge of the event, we were 4th). He came up to our table and asked if we had a "special presentation for the judges." Both the manager I was working with and me know the business pretty well and we just looked at each other when he said that and then broke down laughing when he took our dessert and walked off. It reminds me of a book I recently read by an ex-head food critic at the NYTimes--she talked about the ones who are in it for the special treatment and glory, basically, and that's what he reminded me of.

I did like all of the desserts that won, though. They all had really good flavor and were fairly unique (well, minus Food Dance's--it was good, but not especially creative). Derrick (the guy I was with--he created the recipe) had done the event before with another restaurant and said it had been a Radisson sweep that year, and also that the auctioneer was a lot better. His dessert (a Thin Mint cheesecake dessert) went for about $1200 that year, and the winning one went for around $4000. I think the winning one went for about $400 or $500 this time around?

Email me your email--littlelotte at gmail.com. We should exchange phone numbers. I'm only in town for about another month, and I would love to see you at least once before I leave.

I'd love to know the answer to that, too. I don't "get" Lost. In fact, I don't get a lot of the shows that are popular now.

I don't get it either. I just read Lord of the Flies.

I think if you've started watching this season it's probably really dull and confusing. However, if you started from the beginning it's FASCINATING!

The big reason I enjoy watching it is Naveen Andrews (Sayid). Why does he torture people? To TURN ME ON!

I haven't really ever watched it, just seen pieces when Dan borrowed the DVDs from his parents. He watched the first ep. of season three online, and I just went, "WTF???" I thought it was rather ridiculous. Sorry :-( I tried, I just couldn't.

I've seen the first season on DVD and loved it. The way they flashback into the characters' lives is interesting. I refuse to watch the third season on tv as I haven't seen the second season. From what I understand, the second and third seasons got a bit weird.
