i feel your pain. i was kind of bound to one area for apartment hunting in seattle, but it's still really unnerving to move sight unseen!

ask the craigslisters for lots of extra apartment pictures. if it's anything like my move, most of them HAVE more, they're just goddamn lazy.

It's really frustrating that I'm in such a great area here, and I want something similar there, but trying to find a place close enough to the downtown life and yet still not in a bad area and closer than a half hour drive to work is really annoying.

i moved to virginia w/o ever having been there. THAT is something that is hard to do. But less than 5 hours?!! I'd def make a trip out there.

Yeah, but I'm also working 60 hour work weeks here at the moment, and tend to be at the restaurant about six days a week :-P I practically fell asleep on the way back to Kalamazoo from visiting my family in Clio for a night...I can't even imagine a drive twice that long right now.
