Lazy

I looked at dresses for the first time today. I'm being lazy, so all you get is a link to the folder with the resized photos rather than a picture post ;-)

#2... but seeing it in person probably makes me a little biased. :) and i have to tell you - i'm incredibly jealous that you wear #1 so well - i tried it on and it made me look absolutely pregnant. :)

*laughs* One is my favorite, right along with the top of two. I probably won't end up with any of these, though. You hear people wedding dress shopping say "You'll know it when you try it on," but those who haven't ever shopped for any type of event dress don't really understand that sentiment. I've gone serious dress shopping for other things twice before, and there are dresses that you say "Well, mayyybeee..." and then you try on that one perfect dress that's exactly the right type of flattering and glamorous, and you say "OMG this is it."

I don't really want to go looking by myself again, though...with dresses that elaborate it's just not the same as other dress shopping. I'm still sad that my one attendant ([livejournal.com profile] amneria...she moved merely months after we became friends :-P) lives in Minnesota, and most of my girly-girl friends who I know would love to do this live too far away to do anything like this.

yeah, i got really lucky having my mom about 40 minutes away, my cousin in holland, and my sister is still in high school, so my mom came when i looked at david's, and they were all able to be there when i actually found my dress (at bridal creations in paw paw... oops!!!) :) who, by the way, i highly (but very discreetly) recommend if you don't find the right dress at david's.

Ooh...thank you! My parents live up near Flint, and I was looking through a bridal magazine that featured gowns by Demetrios. There is a "Brides by Demetrios" in Troy, so (even though I imagine they are out of my price range), I thought it might be worth a try to get an appointment sometime when I'm up visiting.

So. in. love.

Also, I'll be sure to look up that Paw Paw one. Thank you for the rec :-)

Hey, my dress was a Demetrios! I love them. Took them forever to ship my dress to the store, though (like 7 months???).

Also, speaking of seeing them in person, and building off of your other comment earlier, it was very cool running into you. Usually the only way I've met people from LJ before was intentionally planning a meetup...lol

it was cool running into you too... and same here - i've never (knowingly) run into an LJ person anywhere. in fact, i think i've only ever actually met one LJer in person that i didn't already know personally.

if you've ever got the free time and want to grab a drink or something, let me know.
