Photos...as promised...

New home :-D

A view looking down our street at dusk

My mom on the fire escape the day after moving in

A view out the window just outside our apt door

Entrance hallway...still a bit of a mess

Living room at night

During the day

Dining Room/Kitchen

Tiny bathroom

One view of bedroom...still a bit of a mess, but SIGNIFICANTLY better than it was...lol It's a bit of an oddly shaped room.

And now to get ready for a 13-hour day at work...yay! :-P

Wow, what a nice place!! Congrats!

Thank you! It's probably half the size of our last place, and only a one bedroom, but being downtown and near everything interesting and fun is very worth it. Plus it's comfortable and bright, so that helps a lot!

It's only about 650 sq ft, but it's laid out really well.

Nice place :)

Thank you! When I first saw it I thought it would be too small (but I had just seen a rather larger one before it), but then I saw it again with Dan and realized, "Oh...it's not that bad, smaller than I wanted, but definitely doable." Now I adore it.

I wish there were real kitchens here. When you find an apartment in France, chances are there is no oven or fridge (and definitely not a dishwasher). Usually there are no cupboards either. Just a lonely sink in a corner. It's quite depressing actually.

I miss carpet too. My feet are always cold because the French are anti-carpet.

I could jump on board with that. We really don't use our kitchens, though we're trying really really hard to make this apartment different than the other ones. We were just talking yesterday about how it's kind of nice to be a homebody when you live in the middle of the city because when you really want to go out it's so easy to walk just a few blocks and be...well...everywhere. This apartment, though small, is so open, and that it opens out onto views of the highway and huge city buildings makes it feel so much bigger than it actually is. It feels nice to be tucked away and hidden in the middle of all that.
