I like doing these, so I googled for one that wasn't the one I just did (the only one that seems to be plastered among my flist)...

1.) where did you bring in 2006?
At home with Dan and a friend of his.

2.) what was your status by valentine's day?
Same as now.

3.) were you in school (anytime this year)?
Nope.

4.) how did you earn your keep?
In the restaurant industry. I kind of ran the gamut this year, though: server, headwait, admin/office manager, assistant manager, new restaurant trainer...the most exciting and major to date is to come shortly, though.

5.) did you ever have to go to the hospital?
Not that I recall...oh, wait! I went to visit my uncle while he was going through chemo, but that wasn't a "had to" situation.

6.) did you ever encounter the police?
hahahahahahahahahahaha...a few times, actually. 1) My car was stolen from work. 2) [livejournal.com profile] amneria's purse was stolen from my car. 3) I got pulled over Christmas Day night for going 80+ right past a police officer who just laughed at my horrified expression and response of "I was?!?!" to his "Most police officers would take something like going 80+ plus right past them personally" (because a) I hadn't even noticed I was going quite that fast and b) I didn't even see the officer) and let me go with a warning. Given that I've been driving for over three years and that was the first time I've been pulled over, I was pretty amused.

7.) where did you go on vacation?
What is this vacation you speak of? I visited home a couple of times for a day or two, does that count?

8.) what did you purchase that was over $500?
I didn't.

9.) did you know anybody who got married?
I know a couple of people who did.

10.) did you know anybody who passed away?
Not personally, thank goodness.

11.) have you run into anybody you graduated high school with?
I'm sure I did.

12.) did you move anywhere?
Nope. But I'm wondering where I'm about to...it's kinda scary to know you're going to, but you don't have any clue as to possible wheres.

13.) what sporting events did you go to?
I don't believe I did...

14.) what concerts did you go to?
Umm...good question. No major ones. Oh! Wait! Jimmy Buffett in September with a crew from CiP.

15.) are you registered to vote?
Of course.

17.) where do you live now?
Kalamazoo, Michigan. Yes, there really is a Kalamazoo. In fact, there are multiple Kalamazoos in the US. Just Googlemap it.

18.) describe your birthday?
Woke up, went to breakfast with [livejournal.com profile] surlenil, did a touch of shopping, went to St. Joseph for the Venetian Festival with my family, my cousin and [livejournal.com profile] surlenil, went to dinner with my family and Dan.

19.) what's the one thing you thought you would never do, but did in 2006?
I ran an office and became an assistant manager, and I took the leap to apply for an actual salaried management position.

20.) what is one thing you regretted this year?
Nothing.

21.) what's something you learned?
So many things. Life is rarely what you expect it will be, for one.
Life really is exactly what you make of it.
There's so much to learn, and so much that other people will teach you that you'd never have guessed otherwise.

22.) any new additions to your family?
Molly! I'm going to miss her terribly when I leave. I want Dan to keep her for now because I know how much happier he is with her around. She really helps him, and I know that I'm pretty okay on my own. I'll actually be able to afford to get back on my antidepressants for good, too, so that will help my own mood swings.

23.) What was your best month?
I'm not quite sure. There were a lot of great ones, but December's been exceptionally surreal. I enjoyed January for the OKC opening, this summer was rather nice, and December has been something else. Some of you will remember the handful of tarot readings I dd a few months ago. I saw a card that's been pretty major in the course of my life, and I hadn't really seen in a while in my readings, and I knew that major things were going to be happening within the coming year. Also, a "general" reading done by an oracle somebody on my flist created implied major work change, also (okay, not implied, outright said):
It seems that you are having problems with work and this is due to the fact that you're not doing what you really want to and this is producing a dichotomy between your true self and the self you must pretend to be in order to function in that environment. For awhile you managed to succeed in this duplicity, but it has begun to wear thin, and pretending all the time is becoming increasingly unpleasant and difficult. You will shortly be in a unique position to find work better suited to your spirit and be able to shed this false skin - but this transformation is often difficult, especially when one has been pretending so long that they become trapped by the illusion. Have faith and you will break free.

24.) what, from pop culture, will you remember 2006?
I really don't keep up with a lot of pop culture, so I'm not quite sure. I almost consider politics to be pop culture anymore, so on that slant I'd say the election season. It was quite the interesting one.

25.) how would you rate this year with a scale from one (horrible) to ten (excellent)?
A few parts 3, a few parts 10. Overall it was pretty nice.
